My wife and I love sailing. When we met, she had the dream of owning a house in Tuscany and I had the dream of owning a sailboat on the Mediterranean. Both our dreams came true. We are now retired and spend a little less than 6 months per year in Tuscany, and the rest of the year in Canada, with the kids and my mother. We love being with the kids, friends, people, and we love good wine, chocolate and coffee, good food and are avid travellers. We can welcome guests on our sailboat in French, English or Italian. We normaly sail the Tuscan Arcipelago (Elba, Formiche and Giglio Islands, Corsica, west coast of Tuscany), and go to France (Menton, Nice) on occasion. The sailboat is fully autonomous with a watermaker which provides, with the 340 liters water tanks we have, all the water we need for showers, drinking and cooking. Ma femme et moi aimons la voile. Lorsque nous nous sommes rencontrés, elle rêvait de posséder une maison en Toscane et j'avais le rêve de posséder un voilier sur la Méditerranée. Nos deux rêves se sont réalisés. Nous sommes maintenant à la retraite et passons un peu moins de 6 mois par an en Toscane, et le reste de l'année au Canada, avec les enfants et ma mère. Nous aimons être avec les enfants, les amis, les gens, et nous aimons le bon vin, le chocolat et le café, la bonne nourriture et nous sommes de grands voyageurs. Nous pouvons vous accueillir sur notre voilier en français, anglais ou italien. Nous naviguons normalement dans l'archipel toscan (îles d'Elbe, Formiche et Giglio, Corse, côte ouest de la Toscane), et allons occasionnellement en France (Menton, Nice). Le voilier est entièrement autonome avec un déssalinisateur qui fournit, avec les réservoirs d'eau de 340 litres dont nous disposons, toute l'eau dont nous avons besoin pour nous doucher, boire et cuisiner. Io e mia moglie amiamo la vela. Quando ci siamo conosciuti, lei aveva il sogno di possedere una casa in Toscana e io avevo il sogno di possedere una barca a vela sul Mediterraneo. Entrambi i nostri sogni si sono avverati. Ora siamo in pensione e trascorriamo poco meno di 6 mesi all'anno in Toscana, e il resto dell'anno in Canada, con i bambini e mia madre. Amiamo stare con i bambini, gli amici, le persone e amiamo il buon vino, il cioccolato e il caffè, il buon cibo e siamo avidi viaggiatori. Possiamo accogliere gli ospiti sulla nostra barca a vela in francese, inglese o italiano. Normalmente navighiamo nell'Arcipelago Toscano (Isola d'Elba, Isole Formiche e Giglio, Corsica, costa occidentale della Toscana) e occasionalmente andiamo in Francia (Mentone, Nizza). La barca a vela è completamente autonoma con un dissalatore che fornisce, con i serbatoi d'acqua da 340 litri che abbiamo, tutta l'acqua di cui abbiamo bisogno per docce, bere e cucinare.

Martime erfarenhet

My first sailing experience was in 1982. Since then, I have sailed as a crew, skipper or captain on various sailboat ranging from 4 to 12 meters. I got my basic level captain certification from Canada in 2008, and my intermediate level captain certification in 2016. I will be completing the advanced level captain certification in november 2023 in Italy. I have done several 5 to 10 days sailing trips, with overnight navigation. I am also a certified Rescue Diver and a certified First Responder (1st aid and CPR) from the Red Cross. I have sailed in storms, strong winds and big waves with no problems. I will be crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean in December 2023, and then back to Italy in June 2024.
